Concluding the above first section, this video uses Reboot’s Cycle of Reactivity as a tool to open communication with stakeholders and build a collaborative support plan for a young person. We summarise the previous content by relating hyper-sensitivity to triggers arising from unmet daily needs, complex trauma, insecure attachment, complex needs etc. We discuss the importance of supporting young people to develop key skills to manage stress better and actively engage in learning and the time and repetitions that this might take. We also explore possible capacity building justice interventions.
1.6: Championing the cause of a young person
Collaborative Questions:
- How might Reboot’s Cycle of Reactivity support effective collaboration with key stakeholders?
- Why is it important for stakeholders to share a common language, support plan and commitment to actions to support young people?
- How can the Cycle of Reactivity be used to support a child, young person or family to see that change is possible and build hope?
- Do you find children and young people with high levels of anxiety sometimes caught in this Cycle of Reactivity also?
