Module 2.7: Childhood resilience, Agency and Hope

Problem-solving skills underpin resilience, hope and agency. They are critical to learning and life success! This video introduces Reboot’s Positive Change Highway as a tool to explicitly teach and support healthy problem-solving and build the hope and agency in children and young people. We address catastrophising, hopelessness and apathy and ways to build and celebrate small wins. The importance of self-regulation and problem-solving skills to childhood resilience is also discussed.

Collaborative Questions:

Using Reboot’s Positive Change Highway as a lens, what aspects of the problem-solving process do your clients struggle with?

Have you ever encountered a young person or adult fixated on the Speedbumps rather than the Strategies? What impact does this have on behaviour?

How might you use the Positive Change Highway in your work with clients?
