Module 3.0: Trauma-transformative case management

This video synthesises the material covered above on the Cycle of Change and nature of behavioural change and the importance of skill building in young people. We link the change process with the Cycle of Reactivity and ways we can support effective goal setting and skill building to empower children and young people to make the best of their learning and life opportunities.

Collaborative Questions:

  • Can you explain in your own words what trauma transformative practice is and how we can support young people to create real change in their lives?
  • Is the process of change linear? How can we address sabotage?
  • Which of these tools do you think that you might use in your practice: motivational interviewing, goal setting templates, relationships and the Power Bubbles, feelings tracker and trigger identification, Success @ School Plans, Wild Brain strategies, other?
  • Which of these skills do you think would be of benefit to the children, young people (and families) that you work with: self-regulation, healthy relationships, problem-solving, positive identity and self-talk?
